Measuring the Collage: Inches & Angel Degrees

Definition of an Inches: (noun) a unit of linear measure equal to one twelfth of a foot (2.54cm)

Additionally: An inch was historically determined by the length of three barely corns laid end to end, or the width of a man's thumb, and was oedipally defined in 1959 as exactly 25.4mm or 2.54cm. The modern international definition was agreed upon by countries like the US and the United Kingdom to standardize measurements for trade and science.

I use the inch because I grew up learning to use it in the public school system and is largely an American standard measure unit vs. metric units. It is also easier to measure a length. With the inch I can be as precise by dividing the fraction into smaller units with a ruler.

I measure the Angeles of each shape and calculate the angle of the outer angle and document both by using the equation x degrees - 360 degrees = y degrees. I do this to all the angles in collage.

The Protractor: instrument used for measuring angles. Use a full circle divided into 360 parts.
